As per the Kim Kardashian craze for contouring, these compact contour palettes are everywhere at the moment. I have decided to share three that I use quite often.
Here we have the Sleek Make Up Face Contour Kit in Medium (£6.49), Beauty UK Ultimate Contour Palette (£4.99) and the I heart Make Up Definition Palette (£4.99).
The sleek make up face contour kit was the first kit I purchased after seeing bloggers and vloggers raving about it a few years ago.
It is available in three different shades – light, medium and dark so there is something for everyone. Sleek Make Up is available in many Superdrug stores and some Boots stores. From the swatch you can see that it is a basic palette with a contour powder which is matte bronze shade without shimmer and then a champagne tones highlighting powder.
It’s a palette that is affordable to everyone and particularly good for someone wanting to try contouring for the first time. Contouring with powder isn’t the easiest of tasks as it takes skill and time to make sure it is blended properly but there are so many tutorials out there to help a newbie achieve chiseled cheek bones!
Now this one I love, it is the I heart Make Up (make up revolution) definition palette which is a good all in one contour, highlight and blush palette which is good for many skin tones.
Included is a brown contour matte – a flat bronze colour similar to that in the Sleek palette, a beautiful pink shimmer blush which is gorgeous for spring / summer and then an ivory toned shimmer highlight which is gorgeous on top of the cheeks and on the brow bone and this would also look lovely right on the inner corner of the eye. This is amazingly priced at £6.49. Sleek also do a version of this but is £9.99.
The Beauty UK Ultimate Contour Palette is a cream contour kit. Affordable cream contour products are quite hard to come by. This includes a contour cream, bronzer and a lovely highlighter.
I have the say there is little difference between the contour and bronze cream, just one is slightly lighter and so they are quite interchangeable I think personally. The highlighter is lovely because it doesn’t have any shimmer to it so can be used down the nose, on the cupids bow, on top of the cheeks, below the cheeks or on the brow bone.
This again is super affordable at £4.99 and I purchased mine from Superdrug.
There are loads of really great videos and tutorials about contouring, here is one for you to check out if you wish 🙂
I hope you have found this useful, and thanks for reading!
